Making Far West History DVD...

DVD For Sale

Making History premiered at the FWSA annual meeting in 2011. It is a compilation of achievements by “organized skiing” for the last 150 years. The Plumas County Museum has uncovered proof that ski clubs and ski racing have their origins in North America 150 years ago in the gold camps of the Sierra.

Making History was produced in celebration of this 150th anniversary. The organized skiing story for Far West, however, is not complete without the companion achievements in councils, travel services to members, area development and a final segment on people and events that made history and some events that are still making history.

Making History is roughly 72 minutes in length, but it is designed to be presented in 10-15 minute segments in meetings of snowsports organizations or to civic groups. The chapters are preceded by an introduction and followed by an epilogue– both with relevant historical content. Contained in the DVD are interviews with some of the people that made Far West history so many years ago.

Making History DVDs are for sale by the Far West Ski Association to recoup some of the production expense of the video. Cost is just $30 for each DVD. Checks should be made out to FWSA and sent with your request to:
