Billy Kidd, a descendant of the infamous Billy the Kidd, was the 1964 Olympic Silver Medalist in slalom skiing. Billy later went on to win the 1970 World Championships in Val Gardena, Italy.

Born in Vermont, Billy moved to Steamboat Springs in 1970 and has been giving free ski clinics there for 35 years. Billy is currently serving as Director of Skiing at Steamboat Ski & Resort, CO.

Billy has served on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics International, The President's Council on Physical Fitness, and The Jimmie Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis (currently Can Do MS) in Vail.

Billy hosts corporate ski outings for companies including American Express, Rolex Watch, UPS, American Airlines, Time magazine, Sports Illustrated magazine, and several others.

Wayne Wong

Wayne Wong is a Canadian pioneer of freestyle skiing, and an inductee into both the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.

Any discussion about the early years of “Hot Dog” freestyle skiing will include the iconic name Wayne Wong. Good looking and charismatic, Wong was a very marketable character.

The looks, style and all the latest freestyle ski moves that propelled him into the limelight of the era. His signature tricks on the snow, great smile and personality made him a cultural icon of the early freestyle era.

As Executive Director, Bill Clark directs the Auburn Ski Club Training Center and the Western Ski Sport Museum. The Auburn Ski Club Training Center is a non-profit facility located on Donner Summit, adjacent to Boreal Mountain Resort. The training center provides a variety of programs for 1500+ members including Junior Alpine, Snowboard, Nordic and biathlon ski teams; recreational XC skiing and clinics on club XC trails; and competitions, including NCAA and USSA national competitions.

Bill began skiing as a Junior Far West racer with the Auburn Ski Club and was a four-way competitor at Sierra College. He was program director and head coach of the Auburn Ski Club’s Alpine program from 1979–1990.

He is currently a board member of the Squaw Valley Olympic Museum Foundation, which is working to establish a new museum there. He was a member of the planning committee for the 2010 50th Anniversary Olympic Heritage Celebration.

Curtis Fong is a ski journalist in the West Region of the North American Snowsports Journalists Association, where he serves as the Vice President of Programs and has recently received the NASJA Mitch Kaplan Award for Excellence in Snowsports Coverage.

He is also a member of the International Skiing Heritage Association and the US Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame. For 25 years, he has produced Radio, Television and Columns in Lake Tahoe Snowsports Media with his “The Guy from Tahoe” Mountain Resort Reports on KTHO Radio AM590/96.1FM and his winter Website, BikeandSkiTa-hoe.com, He has hosted the morning television “Mountain Resort Report” and produced “What’s Up Tahoe” on Outside Lake Tahoe Television and writes a weekly ski column “As the Bull Wheel Turns” in the Tahoe Daily Tribune. He was recently inducted in the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Dave Ludwig, founder of Hope On The Slopes (HOTS), states in his own words “The inception of what is now the American Cancer Society Hope On The Slopes began as an idea or thought while riding the chair one day at White Pass. In those days, White Pass had a RFID vertical tracking system that I enjoyed using. We could track our runs and vertical for the day and the year to date. My thought at the time was ‘how could this be used as a fundraiser’?

Since this early concept phase, White Pass has helped develop and refine Hope On The Slopes at White Pass, and has been involved in the expansion of the event to almost every new location.
