...currently scheduled but subject to change

We are so excited about this year's convention and our special guests are a large part of the festivities.

Jess McMillan
Jess, our Keynote Speaker, is a Professional Big Mountain Free Skier. Born and raised in Jackson Hole, she started alpine ski racing in elementary school. After college she took a break and became involved in kayaking.

Three years later she came back to skiing as a Free Skier. She is currently the reigning Freeskiing World Tour Champion and the US Freeskiing National Champion.

Since 2006 Jess has been taking the world freeskiing scene by storm, claiming a podium position in almost every event she’s entered.

You can also catch Jess in this years Warren Miller film, “Like There’s No Tomorrow”.

Billy Kidd
Billy, a descendant of the infamous Billy the Kidd, was the 1964 Olympic Silver Medalist in slalom skiing. Billy later went on to win the 1970 World Championships in Val Gardena, Italy.

Born in Vermont, Billy moved to Steamboat Springs in 1970 and has been giving free ski clinics there for 35 years. Billy is currently serving as Director of Skiing at Steamboat Ski & Resort, CO.

Billy has served on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics International, The President's Council on Physical Fitness, and The Jimmie Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis (currently Can Do MS) in Vail. He hosts corporate ski outings for companies including American Express, Rolex Watch, UPS, American Airlines, Time magazine, Sports Illustrated magazine, and several others.

John Allen
John has been with the USFS in Bend, Oregon for the past 7 years. He is currently the Forest Supervisor in the Deschutes National Forest (NF). He grew up in San Diego, California and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1979 with a B.S. in Forest Management.

John started his career in the Forest Service career as a seasonal employee on the Fremont NF, where he also received his career appointment. He has worked on the Winema and Umpqua NF’s in a variety of positions, as a district ranger on the Willamette NF at McKenzie River for 11 years and in Bozeman, Montana as the Deputy Forest Supervisor for the Gallatin NF.

John has had the good fortune to be involved with three ski area master development plans, including the most recent Mt Bachelor Master Development Plan.

Jordan Schweitzer
Jordan has been the recipient of a FWSA Scholarship for the past 5 years and is supported by the Skiyente Ski Club of the Northwest Ski Council.

Jordon started skiing when she was 4 years old and racing at 7. She spent her first 6 years racing with the Mt. Hood Race Team. She had an awesome experience.

In the summer of 2007 she moved to Bend, Oregon to train and race with Mt Bachelor Sports Education Foundation (MBSEF). The move proved to be a great thing because of the coaching, support of the foundation and the speed training she gets on Mt Bachelor.

Her goals are to make the US Ski Team and race on the World Cup circuit. She currently maintains above a 3.90 GPA in high school and volunteers at MBSEF fundraising functions.
